Sólrún Franzdóttir Wechner first started taking harpsichord lessons in 2006, her teacher being Guðrún Óskarsdóttir. Under her guidance, Sólrún finished her final exam at The Music School of Reykjavík in May 2012. That fall she began her studies at Hochschule für Künste Bremen (Germany), where she finished her Bachelor Degree in Juli 2016.
Sólrún currently lives in Iceland but spent the past winter living in France, taking lessons from Blandine Rannou and playing serveral projects at the Conservatoire of Versailles.
She has taken masterclasses on harpsichord, but also on fortepiano and organ, teachers being Mikhael Baylan, Jory Vinikour, Roland Dopfer og Ketil Haugsand, amongst others.
