Þórunn Ósk Marinósdóttir is the principal violist of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. She studied viola at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Mr. Ervin Schiffer. Besides the orchestra she also performs as a soloist and is a regular guest in chamber music series and festivals.

Þórunn teaches viola at the Reykjavík College of Music and The Iceland Academy of the Arts. Her recordings of Hafliði Hallgrímsson pieces Ombra for viola and strings and Notes from a Diary for viola and piano have been published by the Bad Taste record label (Smekkleysa) as well as a number of chamber music pieces.
